Scout Wonsang

​Scout Wonsang has mentored young athletes for 16 years and officially coached for 13 years. Since 2007, she has mentored under USA Volleyball Hall of Fame Coach Ruth Nelson. She has coached athletes ages 6 to 21, specializing in those ages 8 to 13. Scout played volleyball at Prosper High School and continued her playing career in college as a Libero/Defensive Specialist for Alabama State University where she helped the team achieve a conference championship. Scout graduated summa cum laude in 2015 and was a member of the All-American Academic Team.

After graduating, Scout expanded her coaching skills by conducting and assisting with clinics at large and small universities, junior colleges, club volleyball programs, independent school districts, and independent training programs. She has collaborated on several projects with the Volleyball and Softball divisions of the ‘Art of Coaching.’

Additionally, Scout facilitated and created a coaching curriculum for Slam VBC, which helped unify the coaching staff, gain their commitment to the club’s community, streamlined the techniques and both defensive and offensive systems taught to the athletes, and resulted in the club’s most successful year at the time, improving their regional ranking. She has also mentored and trained new coaches at the AMO Volleyball Academy for several years.

Scout is a certified member of USA Volleyball, Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory (IMPACT), SafeSport, Junior Code of Ethics, NART water training, GO Kids at Home training, and BYOP training.

Katie Ammerman

Katie brings a dynamic blend of experience and passion to her role as the Varsity Assistant coach for the Plano Senior High School Wildcats. Hailing from West Texas, Katie began her coaching journey in the Amarillo area, where she coached both volleyball and served as Head Softball coach. Her background as a multi-sport athlete in high school, excelling in both volleyball and softball, laid the foundation for her coaching career.

During her own high school career, Katie received numerous all-district and all-state awards, culminating in her senior year where she led her volleyball team as captain to the pinnacle of success, earning the top spot in the Texas State volleyball rankings for class 4A. This achievement marked a historic moment for her school, holding the first-place position for over six weeks. Continuing her athletic career, Coach Ammerman played collegiate volleyball, initially at Clarendon JC before transferring to Oklahoma Wesleyan University on both athletic and academic scholarships. She later completed her education degree at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

Coach Katie's dedication to both teaching and coaching, coupled with her extensive athletic background and success, makes her a valuable asset to the Plano volleyball and our AMO Volleyball program. Her leadership and commitment to excellence will undoubtedly inspire and guide all athletes to new heights.

BEN CAMPBELL

Ben graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's in Exercise Science in Kinesiology in 2015. He has been coaching organized volleyball for over 10 years now at many different clubs throughout Texas ranging from NRG to Skyline and now Arsenal Volleyball Club in Plano, Texas. In 2024, I assistant coached at Prince of Peace private school in Carrollton, Texas. Ben played for more than 10 years and continue to play professionally in adult indoor and sand sanctioned volleyball tournaments. Ben's coaching experience is not limited as he has coached all ages in youth indoor and sand volleyball.

Ijeoma Monoru Alstrup

Ijeoma (IJ) is from Fort Worth, TX and attended R.L. Paschal High School. She competed at TAV during the club season eventually earning a position at Abilene Christian University. IJ was a 4 year starter at ACU.
In her senior season she led the program to the second round of the Regional Tournament, the furthest the program had ever been. Throughout her time playing, IJ was coaching with Abilene Aces and then moved on to Assistant Coaching at ACU upon completion of her undergraduate degree. After coaching with ACU for 3 years IJ has continued her playing career overseas in Denmark and Sweden and is currently home for the off season.
She is passionate about coaching and playing volleyball and is excited to share that passion with AMO campers. 
IJ is currently the head coach at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.
