Coach says athlete entitlement a factor in her retirement

Coaching isn't the same as it use to be back in the day. During our days as a developing athlete, it was expected of us to respect our coaches, follow directions without rebuttal, and give 100% effort 100% of the time during practice and games. We did not expect to start if we were late for practice, we were not entitled to play if we missed practice, and we most definitely would not see the court or field if we disrespected our coaches by talking back or giving attitude. Our coaches were basically our second parents because we not only spent many hours with them during the week, but they taught us life skills through sports.
